BEST MEMORABLE SESSION:

My incredible run and first freeride victory at the Mystic Freeride FWQ 2011 in Italy. At that moment, I realized that all my efforts wouldn't be in vain.

BEST TRIP UP UNTIL NOW:

In summer 2011, I travelled through South America for a month with Sam Anthamatten, Jérémie Heitz and Jérémy Bernard, photographer. We had a great time looking for the best spots and great snow conditions in Argentina and Chili.

BACKROUND IN SKIING:

I was born on 19 June 1988 in the Valais and was lucky to grow up in Nendaz, in the heart of the 4 Vallées ski resort, where I started skiing at age 2. After 16 years as an alpine competitor, I decided in 2008 to try my luck in the freeride disciplines. In my second competition at the Nendaz Freeride, I finished second right away. For the 2008/09 season, I participated in the Freeride World Qualifier events and finished three times among the top 15, despite a few errors due to my inexperience. Thanks to two excellent runs in the last event of the season in Slovakia, I took second place and won important points for the 2010 season. With a 3rd place in Italy and a 6th place in Nendaz during the winter of 2010/11, I finished the season 7th of the FWTQ ranking and got the chance to be a forerunner at the Xtreme Verbier. At the 2011 Mystic Freeride event in Italy, I had an incredible run, which – according to the observers – was worthy of entering the hall of fame of freeride, I earned my first victory on the FWQ. Less than one week later, I also won an event in Spain. After a fall at the Nendaz Freeride, I had a very fluid run and an intelligent line in Chandolin, where I finished second – my third podium of the season. My dream came true: I qualified for the Freeride World Tour 2012 and will be able to compete with the best freeriders of the world.
